This week's issue of the Japanese magazine Famitsu, has revealed new details and screenshots on the upcoming anime RPG Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland, introducing new six sub-characters plus some new battle system details.

Sub-Characters:
- Cole Dueller: First appeared in Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland. He used to be child merchant, now he runs a blacksmith where you can forge weapons and armor.
- Lisa fon Beilschmidt: The showgirl at the bar “Golden Great Axe” in Arculis. While beautiful, she eats like a beast. You can accept requests at the bar.
- Refure fon Beilschmidt: Arculis’ jewelry store shopkeeper and Leeza’s younger sister.
- Elche Jeremies: An adventurer fanatic who lives for getting autographs from famous adventurers.
- Pamela Ibis: An Atelier series recurring character. She is the owner of “Pamela’s Shop” in Arls, which is a tourist attraction.
- Wirth Klinsmann: He runs a restaurant in Arland. He was once an outlaw.
Battle System:
- The battle system is based on Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings. Players can enjoy trial and error-based battles.
- Five characters can participate in battle, with three characters on the front row and two on the back row
- The characters in the back can assist when the characters in the front satisfy certain conditions. HP and MP will gradually recover when positioned in the back.
- "Interrupt System" allows characters to use items even outside of their turn, by building up a gauge. The items you use through Interrupt do not disappear.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland is set to release on March 20, 2019 in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game will also come to the west in Spring 2019 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
